LG Electronics last week rolled out a new advertising campaign aimed at promoting progressive HD technology to global consumer audiences. Ads showing a trademark red LG couch, will roll out in broadcast, print, outdoor and online in more than 70 countries during the next month.

"The Red Couch campaign is a key initiative that addresses the growing high-definition market and the expansion of our HDTV product line," says Allan Jason, LG Electronics USA's VP of consumer electronics marketing. "LG is a global leader in flat-panel HDTV technologies, and no company is better positioned to deliver the Full HD 1080p high-definition viewing experience."

LG's message is all about picture quality and putting viewers in the middle of the action, for both TV ad and integrated web advertising. U.S. TV spots focused on golf, another on bobsledding; yet spec-happy consumers will be catered to at an LG website component which offers additional 1080p information and product specs.
